Short trail to a mobile phone tower. Back end (where four trails meet up) passes by a hunter’s shed/lodge.

This long, somewhat difficult and certainly remote run is rewarded with extensive views, traversing some random tiny villages and a climb back up to La Garde-Freinet. Recommended to bring a friend.
Relatively short out and back run (outbound is straight down so be prepared to come back up) to a local dam with a renovated bee keeping area on a steep hill and an ancient windmill ruin that is not well marked.
Hidden gem of a trail with a lot of vertical and great views of the Med. Also ends up (in this iteration) at a weather station and the Oppidum de Montjean.

With Clare out of town for the week I made the trek from Palm Desert… Read More »California – Coachella Valley – Tahquitz Peak
Amazing trail in one of the most spectacular (and popular!) National Parks in the US. Be prepared and be careful and take advantage of this national treasure.
For the October 2021 Family Reunion, we tucked in an extra day at the end so we could drag the family on a little hike while we went for a run. So, it was up to the Santa Ynez Recreation Area to do one of… Read More »California – SYRA – Buckhorn OHV
