Go to trail back in the St. Max bowl. Tour up into the never-built domaine of Val Orea 3 then up onto the DFCI fire roads.
Fantastic hidden gem just north of Sainte-Maxime – a ton of trails in gentle rolling hills with a tremendous view of the gulf.
Coastal run along the bike path from Sao Joao up to Guia in Cascais along the way to Guincho beach. Beautiful views of the Atlantic and plentiful places to stop for a bit and a drink.
Stunning run up into the Parque Natural da Arrabida above Sesimbra Cove. We didn’t go too far but the park itself is set up on a high cliff and has some breathtaking views and classic trails.
Amazing run – one of the first we’d done since heading to Portugal in the middle of COVID. Path to Praia do Ribeiro do Cavalo is challenging but rewarding. Look at that water!
One of the many great trails in Monsanto. Ends up at Miradouro dos Montes Claros (with the Jardim dos Montes Claros) in the southeast section of the park.
Although my run clocked in at more than 14k, the actual marked trail is much shorter. However, in my opinion, it’s one of the more interesting ones as it takes you to some of the lesser visited areas of the park.
This was my first trail after discovering this exceptional park. Turns out there are much better trails in the park but this one holds a special place in my heart for the many memories and relief it provided during out COVID lockdown.
Nice Monsanto run with a bit of everything. Onto the other side of the freeway, Montes Claros and Anfiteatro Keil do Amaral. This particular run was to say goodbye to my father who had just passed away.
